Full text of license agreements

Activated editions of Omniscope are usually licensed on an annual basis, although multi-year licenses and in some circumstances perpetually-licensed bundles are available. The license includes all upgrades and support for the licensed edition for the duration of the license, except for perpetual licenses, which are accompanied by annual support payments.

Please note: the Omniscope End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) contains a restriction in Section 2 regarding external distribution/publishing of Omniscope .IOK files for commercial purposes. If you intend to distribute Omniscope files to paying customers using the free Viewer, a separate Commercial Publishing License is required to amend your standard EULA and remove the restriction on external commercial publishing and refresh via the free Viewer. Omniscope installations fully licensed for commercial publishing use different keys that add statements to that effect to every file they create. Workgroup .IOM file producing installations effectively include a commercial publishing license at no extra charge, since they do not publish or refresh to free Viewers.

Omniscope Restricted Publishing Licenses

Allows all internal use and any non-commercial external distribution/publishing

The Omniscope End User License Agreement (EULA) is a restricted publishing license that grants rights to use the software, with regular updates and support, for unlimited internal or non-profit file distribution only. External distribution/publication of Omniscope files for non-commercial purposes IS permitted under the terms of the standard EULA. Commercial distribution of .IOK files to paying customers, or re-formatting remotely-hosted customer data for download in .IOK format also requires a Commercial Publishing License. All .IOK files created by restricted license installations display the notice "not for commercial publishing" on the files created.

Omniscope Commercial Publishing Licenses

Allows unrestricted external commercial distribution/publishing of .IOK files

Before publishing data commercially in Omniscope .IOK file format, i.e. sending regular .IOK files to paying clients, charging a fee or subscription for data published in .IOK files, or providing clients the option of downloading their hosted data as Omniscope .IOK files, or launching a service that refreshes data via the free Viewer, we must first agree an unrestricted Commercial Publishing License. Your Commercial Publishing License agreement will include new activation keys to remove the "not for commercial publishing" restriction notice from all .IOK files produced by your unrestricted license installations.

Visokio grants Commercial Publishing Licenses in return for an agreed annual per client payment tailored to your requirements. The amount is based on the expected number of paying clients (tens? hundreds? thousands? millions?) the expected average revenue per client (cents? dollars? thousands of dollars?), whether or not you will be refreshing data via the free Viewer, and the likely effect that publishing the files will have on Visokio support requirements. Visokio works closely with commercial publishing clients to define the appropriate licensing model and offers file configuration, database automation,development and consulting assistance on a daily charging basis.
